BASALT – Lucky Day Animal Rescue’s efforts to find homes for pets in the Roaring Fork Valley will get a boost Wednesday from shoppers at Whole Foods Market in Basalt. Whole Foods will donate 5 percent of net sales to the animal rescue group. Each month, the grocery store uses the special day to help a nonprofit organization in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Lucky Day has helped more than 200 animals throughout the valley. Its mission is to aid lost, abandoned and suffering animals by finding them new homes, rehabilitation, education and love.
