Angela Gonzalez-Martinez of Carbondale passed away Monday, Feb. 18, in Chicago. She was 43.

Angela was born June 27, 1964, in Mexico City, to Bonifacio and Esperanza (Vigil) Gonzalez. She married Eduardo Martinez on Oct. 2, 1982, in Mexico City. She was a member of the La Roca Christian Center.

She was a beautiful wife, loving mother to three, and a bright and astounding sister/sister in law. An energetic woman, she had a smile that warmed the coldest day. She was an angel, just as her name declared. She will be loved and missed by her family.

Angela is survived by her husband Eduardo; son Christian K. Martinez; daughters Cintia J. Martinez and Dolores M. Martinez. She is also survived by her brothers Jesus, Javier, Reynaldo, Balthazar, Bonifacio, and Isaias Gonzalez; and her sisters Carmen, Maria, and Amalia Gonzalez.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Farnum-Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs. A funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Farnum-Holt Chapel, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Basalt to follow.
