An ode to no fireworks

Dear Editor:T’was the night before the Fourth of JulyAnd all through Aspen was a horrible cry. Will there be fireworks lighting the sky?Or have we’ve been told it’s much too dry!As fortune would have it or fortunes be lostWe’re told “There’s no fireworks, no matter the cost!”And even with rainfall coming at lastIt’s clear that this year it’s a thing of the past.To quote Rodney King, “Can’t we just get along?” And surely we can with a dance and songFor in this town it’s easy to belong And remember that Winterskl won’t be that long!Tim CottrellAspen Pyrotechnic Team
