An insider’s view on politics, economics
Dear Editor:
The Aspen Democracy Initiative’s “Democracy Dialogues” series continues from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BB’s Kitchen. This week Peter Wallison will discuss “What the Heck Is a SuperPac? Money, Politics and Campaign Finance.”
Peter is former White House counsel to President Ronald Reagan, has served as a member of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Advisory Committee and was co-chair of the Financial Reform Task Force in 2009. This will be a great opportunity for members of our community to learn more about the intersection of money, politics and elections and how it all impacts our democracy.
All community members are welcome (attendance is free, and BB’s is offering drink specials; thanks, BB’s!). We hope your readers will particularly encourage younger valley residents to join the discussion and engage in the issues that will impact their futures.
