An energizing extravaganza

Dear Editor:On behalf of the Carbondale Environmental Board, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Energy Extravaganza last Thursday. Whether you realized it or not, you played a large role in the planning for a sustainable energy future for Carbondale, both with your participation and simply by your presence. When the community speaks, its government has to listen. Fortunately for us, our town government wants to hear what we have to say. I also want to thank our sponsors who made this event possible: the Community Office for Resource Efficiency, Ace Hardware, Solar Energy International, Jack Sebesta, Access Roaring Fork, KDNK, KSMT and KSPN.One more thank-you to all of the local businesses that participated, and to the volunteers who helped with the event and/or helped assemble Maam, the life-sized, human-powered woolly mammoth. Like the fliers said, Carbondale’s energy future is choice, not fate. Thanks for being a part of history!Soozie LindbloomCarbondale Environmental Board
