America’s problems
Dear Editor:
Google up the U.S. unemployment data and find that 39.8 million were unemployed in 2008. This estimate doesn’t include all the kids with jobless parents. How many kids are going hungry? Why ask when no one cares?
The problem of poor parents and kids is a sleeping giant that the pols will spring on the public. More money will be needed to pay for a decent safety net that will keep millions from living in poverty. But that is only one sleeping giant that Mr. Obama’s administration has waiting for the public. The country’s problems will soon be so muddled that voters will be overwhelmed. They will look to a strong leader who can bring meaning and order to America’s affairs. History tells us that this is not a new story.
Be brave, Comrades.
