Amendment 64 sounds good to us

Dear Editor:

Writing as a retired detective, thank you for your support on Amendment 64. Almost every officer will admit (privately or when retired) that chasing a green plant is not just a waste of our good time – it results in fewer arrests for pedophiles and the deadly DUI.

Marijuana arrests for simple possession will go to a statistical zero. My federal colleagues do not make traffic stops (no overheads), and they only become involved in grow operations of about 100 plants or more. Thus, despite it staying illegal at the federal level, we in Colorado will be able to possess and even grow a little of our own with no interference from the DEA.
