Alpine Bank garners Aspen award for its commuting options

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – The city of Aspen has given an award to Alpine Bank for the alternative-commuting options it offers to employees.

The bank was honored for its participation in and commitment to the city’s Transportation Options Program, or TOP. It was named Employer of the Year among the businesses that participate in the program.

The company has an intranet page it uses as a tool for forming carpool groups. Alpine Bank is also a member of the city of Aspen’s Car to Go car-share program, allowing its employees to reach meetings and run errands during work hours while still walking, cycling or taking the bus to get to and from work.

Alpine Bank is currently using a grant to test a rewards program for its many alternative commuters.

Through TOP, businesses can obtain assistance for various transportation services. The program currently counts more than 40 employers and provides grant opportunities, emergency ride-home services, transportation alerts and more.
