Alma R. Murdock

Alma R. Murdock passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, Colo.She was 96.She was born April 4, 1914, in Snowmass to Joseph & Alina Montover.On April 18, 1936, Alma married James Murdock in Glenwood Springs. James died on June 9, 1968. Alma was a member of the Catholic Church. She has lived in Brush for the past three years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved to dance.She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina and an infant son.Survivors include her children, Mary (Joe) Schutte of Englewood; Marlene (Bob) Mero of Lakewood, and Jimmie (Gary) Likely of Brush and Gran Murdock (Sharon) of Rifle; sister, Vera Diemoz of Glenwood Springs; brothers, Leno Montover of Parachute and Pleno Montover of Clifton; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.A celebration of Alma’s life will be held at the St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs on Friday, March 18, 2011, with rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.Inurnment will follow in the Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
