Alley aesthetics

Dear Editor:In the [Aug. 22] Aspen Daily News there was an interesting article debating the merits of citywide recycling. Aspen has always been in the forefront on environmental issues and should set the standard here.My question is to the business owners who expressed concern that recycling boxes could look unappealing and clutter alleys. When was the last time anyone cared at all about alleys in Aspen? Is the beauty and appeal of the alleys really a concern to the business community? I know the bear population has a special attraction to the beauty and appeal of those areas! Carl HeckAspen
