Allen ‘Ollie’ Urbach

Allen “Ollie” Urbach, from Bloomington Minn. and Aspen, died Jan. 30, 2013. He was 58.

Ollie was born in Bloomington to Orlin and Lone Urbach.

He is survived by his brothers, Mike and Charlie, and sisters Madeline Christiansen, Marcia Wallace and Mary Henninger.



Ollie graduated from Lincoln High School in Bloomington and went on to Saint Cloud State University. He spent the majority of his life in Aspen.-He worked on the rivers with Bob and Lara Harris and guided his own trips. He also worked as a carpenter for Joe Zanin and Bill Toffany, as well as contracting on his own.

Ollie was an officer and became exalted ruler of the Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224.




The bigger the game, the more Ollie enjoyed it. He started with softball and ended with cards. He truly created friendships up and down the valley.

We miss him.

A memorial was held for Ollie on Feb.14 at Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina, Minn. A local service will be held in the spring.
