All the world’s a stage

One doesn’t have to know how the Mother Lode might be used for it to be a good idea to purchase it. We seek vitality in the commercial core and purchasing this property simply gives us the options we need to create strategic theatrical vitality.

Apart from Theatre in the Park, every theatrical performance that I have attended in Aspen has taken place at the Aspen High School, which is an inconvenient location and a frustrating maze. The Wheeler Opera House is used for films 155 nights a year, as well as live concerts.

I envision purchasing the Mother Lode property and creating year-round “Aspen Theatre in the Round,” either indoors or outdoors. Let’s have more theatre in Aspen and let’s purchase the Mother Lode so that we have options to make this happen. All the world’s a stage …

Not all VALUE needs to be measured in monetary terms. Aspen is known for its classical music, but I would like Aspen to be recognized for theatrical performances.

Remember the Kevin Costner film about baseball ” “If you build it, they will come …”?

Let’s create theatrical vitality downtown for ourselves and our visitors. Vote YES to purchase the Mother Lode. Thank you.
