All hail the ski patrol

Dear Editor:Two days ago my friend Jay from San Diego fell on a trail coming off the Big Burn at Snowmass. He was short of breath and dizzy. His wife called the Ski Patrol, and a group of men in red jackets arrived promptly. I skied down to my friend and witnessed the process of evaluation and evacuation.I was very impressed with the professional conduct of the ski patrol. They were courteous, firm, competent, and caring. They helped tansport my friend to the hospital in an efficient way. Jay eventually was given a clean bill of health. The men and women of the Snowmass Ski Patrol are a credit to Snowmass and the Aspen community.David DiCiccoDel Mar, Calif.
