September 6, 2008
ASPEN ” The Aspen Cycling Club will be hosting its second adopt-a-trail day on Sunday at the “root” section of the Government Trail.
Led by Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteer trail crew leaders, volunteers can assist in re-routing the singletrack trail from the right to the left side of the large tree that forms the “root” drop.
Volunteers need only bring themselves and a pair of sturdy work shoes, gloves, rain gear and anything else for their own comfort (water, food, bug spray, etc). RFOV crew
leaders will provide tools and instruction.
The work crew will meet at the Tiehack parking lot at 8:45 a.m. and will walk up to the work site from there. The work day is scheduled to end between 2-3 p.m.
Volunteers who are Aspen Cycling Club members will receive 30 points in the mountain bike season series for their first effort or 15 points if they attended the previous trails day.
