Adams’ ‘The Passion’ a masterpiece

Dear Editor:

Two weeks ago the valley was treated to an exquisite musical experience.

Ray Adams’ “The Passion” is an incredibly beautiful and moving composition. The Aspen Choral Society singers and musicians combined to present a true masterpiece, the focus of which is on the transforming, redeeming power of love.

The dedication of the piece in Father Theophane’s memory was given extra meaning, as members of Theophane’s family traveled from the East Coast to be at the performance. I wish I could capture their response in words, but one can’t write what tears and smiles and hugs say. They, and we, are very grateful to all who contributed – thanks to you, Ray, and to Cynthia, the singers, the soloists, the musicians, the board that organizes such events and all who contributed financially.

How good it would be for the greater public to be exposed to this work of art. We deeply hope that other performances of Ray Adams’ “The Passion” will warm the hearts and touch the souls of many.

Thanks to all of you for your labor of love in creating and presenting “The Passion.”
