Actions speak louder

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:

Most Americans realize that we consume and waste far more than any other country, but our lives are busy, we need the conveniences, and frankly, we just don’t have the time to think about it. On the other hand, most Americans also realize that our resources are not unlimited.

There is a quiz at http://www.earthday.net/footprint/index.asp that will calculate your “ecological footprint.” Try taking the quiz, and then if you want to learn more about how you can personally improve or how you can get involved in reducing our consumption collectively, please come to the “Actions Speak Louder” potluck today (May 13) at Bumps restaurant, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The topic of this get-together is “Recycling and Pre-cycling” with Becky Moller from the Pitkin County Landfill and Randy Udall from CORE as speakers. We want these potlucks to be fun monthly gatherings for learning, sharing ideas and bringing about real changes. Get involved – right now this is the only planet we have!
