ACRA accepting board nominations
There are six seats up for election on the Aspen Chamber Resort Association board of directors this spring.The chamber is accepting nominations through March 18 for the seats that represent the restaurant, retail, small lodging, service, nonprofit and professional business sectors. Chamber President Hana Pevny said interested chamber members can pick up a list of other members from ACRA until March 18. In order to be a candidate, the nominees must get signatures from a minimum of 10 percent of the chamber members in their own category.The entire chamber membership is mailed ballots for the election on April 2. Pevny said the two-year term on the board will run from May 1, 2005, through April 30, 2007.”We’re the largest nonprofit in Aspen – this is a great leadership opportunity for people who want to get involved,” Pevny said. Responsibilities for board members include actively participating in committee and board meetings, setting policy, reviewing and approving programs, and attending and supporting ACRA programs.Stan Hajenga of the Mountain Chalet currently represents small lodging, tax attorney Rick Jones represents the professional sector, Jay Magidson of Magidson Fine Art represents the retail sector, Laura Thielen of Aspen FilmFest represents the nonprofit seat, and Howard Ross of the Motherlode Restaurant represents restaurants.Naomi Havlen’s e-mail address is email@example.com

Friends of Colorado Avalanche Information Center has contributed to the state’s avalanche center for several years to help with forecasting for backcountry visitors. It cannot hold in-person fundraisers this year so its asking supporters to sign up for an annual membership.
