Accident closes I-70 in Glenwood Canyon

GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” A multi-car accident closed westbound Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon Wednesday afternoon.

The interstate was closed from mile marker 128 to 125 near the Hanging Lake Exit area.

Captain Rich Duran of the Colorado State Patrol said three vehicles were involved and two people were hurt in the crash; the severity of the injuries was not known.

As of 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Duran said tow trucks were on the scene and he expected the westbound lanes to reopen at about 5:30 p.m.

State issues Vail Resorts a notice of violation for 2021 fish kill

Vail Resorts has received notice of violation and a cease and desist order in the wake of a spill, which qualifies as a “discharge of pollutants,” last year from part of the Vail Mountain snowmaking system that ultimately resulted in a fish kill in Gore Creek.
