A worthy cause to support

Dear Editor:The National Kidney Foundation presents the ninth biennial U.S. Transplant Games, to take place in Louisville, Ky., on June 16-21, and Team Rocky Mountain could use your support. The five-day competition is open to individuals of all ages who have received a life-saving organ transplant such as heart, liver, kidney and lung. The games are also opened to bone marrow recipients. The games feature 36 events in swimming, cycling, basketball, tennis, track and field, golf and bowling. This event is a celebration of life, proving transplantation does work and that people can and do lead full and productive lives. My name is Michael Wells, and this will be my first time participating in the games, and I am looking forward to spending time with all the other participants. It should be a very inspirational time. Team Rocky Mountain is sending about 40 athletes representing Colorado, Montana and Wyoming, and a donor family to the games, and your generous contributions will help support all these people. To contribute, go to http://www.firstgiving.com/michaelwells. All contributions are tax-deductible and go to support the efforts of the National Kidney Foundation and Team Rocky Mountain at the U.S. Transplant Games. If you wish to be a corporate sponsor or can’t donate online or would like more information, you can contact me through the newspaper.Michael WellsAspen
