A worthy cause

Dear Editor:

The Artists for Haiti benefit held at the De Vore Gallery on Friday, Jan. 23, was a wonderful success, raising over $5,000 for Susie and Joe Krabacher’s Mercy and Sharing Foundation. A tremendous amount of thanks goes out to the local artists and businesses, which freely donated their original artworks, goods and services.

The exceptional quality of artwork presented was a testament to the talented artists who reside in the Roaring Fork Valley and who are often the first to step up when called upon. A special thanks to both Will Young and Sarah Niblack for their assistance in organizing the fundraiser and to the De Vore Gallery for providing a venue for the event.

The Roaring Fork Valley is a beautiful place to live not only for the scenery but also for the caring and thoughtful individuals who make up its communities. There are a number of other fundraisers for Haiti being organized locally and I encourage everyone to support these events as well.
