A worthy cause

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to share with your readers what I believe is an unique opportunity. I wish to offer all my wealthy neighbors the chance to beat the rush, and be the first to take advantage (or be taken advantage of, as the case may be …) of the new “Obama-nomics” of “spreading the wealth.”

In case the country chooses that route on voting day, you can show your support and early compliance by sending that sizable check right away, directly to my account; save yourself the pain and anguish of letters from the U.S. Treasury or the IRS, standing in long lines, etc.

In the tradition of Joe the Plumber, I believe I am a terrific target for your generosity. A 20-year resident, honest and hard-working, and I promise to spend this bounty locally. I bank right here in the valley. Heck, we may even use the same bank; it’ll be a simple accounting event.

But wait! Don’t be shy, act now and get special pricing on any work sent my way in 2009!

Thank you for your attention and remember after you send your check, it only stings for the next four years … (Of course if the country elects McCain, please disregard).
