A wonderful concert

Dear Editor:

A group of dedicated volunteers stepped up to create a winter program of classical music to replace the AMFS Harris Hall concerts, which were canceled this winter. The first of a series of three was a lovely evening.

Last Thursday night, Feb. 3, in the sub-zero cold of winter, a wonderful quarter consisting of Nadine Asin, Elizabeth Lim-Dutton, Darrett Adkins and Lawrence Dutton performed a program of Mozart, Villa-Lobos, Dohnanyi and Patatucci. It was held at the Aspen Chapel to a full-house audience which was so appreciative of the concert.

All these talented musicians have played for years in Aspen at one time or another and have numerous friends in the community. That was a special treat of the evening: This concert was played in an intimate atmosphere with wonderful acoustics and was at one with our little community of music-loving Aspenites.

A happy reception followed in the gallery downstairs. Thanks to all who made it happen with a lot of work and dedication. We enthusiastically look forward to the next two concerts.
