A win-win for Basalt

Dear Editor:

One of the more attractive facets of the upcoming Basalt election is that we have two candidates for mayor who are capable, qualified and experienced.

I am pleased to see that the candidates have run a clean campaign based upon their merits, expertise and plans and have avoided attacking the opponent, and many of your letter writers have made a point of lauding both candidates, which brings me to my supposition.

If Glenn Rappaport is elected, Basalt loses a valuable asset from council, and Jacque’s voice, vote, sensitivity and personal engagement are gone.

If Jacque Whitsitt is elected, Basalt has an excellent new mayor, and Glenn retains his seat for another two years. We get to have our proverbial political cake and eat it too!

So, elect Jacque Whitsitt for mayor, and we build a better Basalt by having the best of both worlds.

“Eat Basalt, shop Basalt, be Basalt!”
