A travesty of justice

Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to the article “Former Daily News editor enters guilty plea to DWAI.” (Feb. 16, The Aspen Times)

I am appalled that drunk drivers receive such ridiculous sentences. Drunk drivers, especially repeat drunk drivers, kill people. I applaud the sheriff’s deputy that pulled this hazard over and actually took him off the road. It’s too bad that the justice system doesn’t seem as interested in protecting the public good.
