A traffic suggestion
We have four lanes in and out of Aspen on Highway 82. But, we are only allowed to use one in each direction.
This past Sunday, I left my Snowmass Village home at 3:15 p.m. for the Music Tent. I got to Highway 82 on Owl Creek Road at 3:30 p.m. I was shocked to see the one lane jammed. It took me 45 minutes to get to the tent. Of course, I was late, as were many others.
The restricted bus lane had a bus every 10 minutes and a police car or two (are they allowed to use the bus lane)?
Here’s a shocking idea for local courts and state government – do something intelligent, unless that’s an “oxymoron!”
Let the bus lanes be used during peak traffic hours. Also put the traffic lights at Cemetery Lane and the golf course on “blink”; right turns only. By using the roundabout and underpass at the Maroon Club, left turns can be accomplished.
Please, please, you guys and gals, give us a break. It’s good for the environment.
