A tent might not do

Dear Editor:Myself and two friends have been sold the “dream” of coming to work in Aspen/Snowmass for this winter season, and I must say, we all can’t wait! That is until I took it upon myself to try and find accommodation for us in the Aspen/Snowmass area, and what a disappointing result I have had. Being from New Zealand I would like to think of myself as a resourceful kind of girl, and I have pretty much come to an end of what I can do from New Zealand to try and find accommodation for us. I now sit here in the start of what was going to be a “fantastic” and “awesome” winter, with a feeling of disappointment and sadness. With our pending arrival in just one week, is there anyone there who could help us out? Surely, it’s time that the Aspen/Snowmass area addressed the lack of employee housing so that the “Average Joe” who doesn’t work for Skico can have a fighting chance of actually finding some form of cheap accommodation. So, if in a week you happen to see a few tents go up at the base parking lots, please don’t throw us out … it’s not like we haven’t tried to find accommodation!Any help would be appreciated.Rebecca McCoyChristchurch, New Zealand
