A supportive community

Dear Editor:

Thank you all so much for all of your love and support while Kelly has been hospitalized. Thanks also to Dr. Tomasso and the loving and competent staff at Valley View Hospital. All of you being there for Kelly and for us, her family, have made us feel so blessed to live in this incredible valley.

Kelly has been fortunate to have played music with one of the finest musicians here over the past 20 years and is looking forward to getting back out there and playing with and for you again soon. As she physically recovers at Valley View and then at home, we hope to help her recover financially by assisting her with her medical bills and immediate needs.

Chad at Alpine Bank in Basalt has helped us set up the Kelly Michel Benefit Fund (aka Kimberly Medlen For Benefit of Kelly Michel). A benefit “event” is also being planned in the near future, and we will get the word out with regard to that very soon.

As we enter this new year, it is certainly at the top of this family’s list of blessings that we live in a community that really does care about each other.
