A summer of rec. fun
Dear Editor:I am writing this letter to give my deepest thanks to all the parents, coaches, and sponsors that have supported our youth baseball and softball programs this summer. We had such a successful year that without one of these pieces it would have been impossible to accomplish all that we did.The Carbondale Recreation Department is always in need of support and we feel a sense of relief when we can count on volunteers. The population is ever growing; it is nice to see that no matter how much this small town expands, there is still a sense of pride and community. There is so much enjoyment that still goes into and comes out of these activates. It is amazing to watch the youth in this town grow and learn some of the values that are taught within the programs. A lot of the kids are making life long friends that they will continue to play sports with on into high school. So I say thank you to all those who put a smile on a kid’s face, a lesson in a kid’s head, and enjoyment in a kid’s heart. It has been an amazing year and we hope we can count on all of your support again next summer. Jevon BoudreauxAssistant CoordinatorCarbondale Recreation

It’s hard to fight City Hall and even harder to fight well-funded neighbors who don’t want any development near them, a local man has realized. So he settled for less than what he and his partner bought the property for.
