A successful road race
Dear Editor:The Aspen Cycling Club recently enjoyed another successful evening of road racing in the town of Snowmass Village on Wednesday, May 25.On behalf of the ACC Board of Directors and all of the racers, I want to thank the residents who came to spectate, the road users for their patience and the volunteers who helped make the race happen. We especially want to thank the Snowmass Village police, particularly Art Smythe and Brian Olson, for supplying traffic control and lead vehicles. Also, many thanks to John Baker and the staff of the Road and Public Works Department for signing and cleaning up the course. Thanks to the Planning Department (Bob Nevins, Jocelyn, and Chris Conrad) for their help with the permit process. Lastly, thanks to the Snowmass/Wildcat Fire Department for standing by in case of an accident – happily we did not need their assistance. We look forward to doing it again next year.Danny DiMariaPresident, Aspen Cycling Club
