A success story

Our summer reading program, entitled “Flip Over Books,” was a huge success this year, and I would like to thank the people and businesses who helped make it possible.

My thanks go to: Gwen Smith, Carole and Sarah Maner, Polly Pollard, Maria and Braiden Malther, Julie Fox-Rubin, Mary Grange, Lauren Emenaker, Lexi and Brielle Cerep, Erin Wilson, Emma Juniper, and Deborah and Michael Kendrick for helping with the Beach Party Kick-Off. I’d like to thank Charlotte McLain and Robin Braine for covering the circulation desk at one of its busiest times ever.

I’d also like to give my thanks to the following businesses that gave special prizes for the children: Wendy’s of El Jebel, Capitol Deli, The Toy Shack, Movieland, Basalt Community Pool, 7-11 of Basalt and Alpine Bank of Basalt. We had 275 children sign up for the program and the elementary school age kids logged in 2,268 hours of reading.

Thanks to all the kids, parents and sponsors who made this summer so wonderfully busy at the Basalt Regional Library.
