A special effort

On behalf of the midvalley senior citizens who meet at Valley Pines, Basalt, I would like to thank the Basalt community and surrounding areas for the tremendous support we had for our fund-raiser event – “Hightime in The Rockies” on Oct. 3.

What a marvelous evening we all had. We would like to thank Anita Witt (Missouri Heights cowgirl) for singing and playing her guitar through a true Western dinner – Chef Judean Glassier at the helm. Then, as we had at least three infamous cowboys attending, we were able to purchase Anita’s books, along with book-signing by Anita and the cowboys featured in the books.

A delightful fashion show was presented by the seniors themselves. Door prizes were given away by local businesses in Basalt. Next we were treated to hearing Twirp Anderson, auctioneer supreme, in action!

The evening was rounded off by Twirp, John, Cash and Jeff’s country-Western music bringing the house down with a lot of dancing and singing.

So . our thanks goes out to each and every one of you who helped, by either attending or just donating, making this a special community effort for the senior citizens of the midvalley.
