A special candidate
I need to tell you about a special candidate for Eagle County Commissioner.
Aside from the fact Gerry Sandberg is my son-in-law, I know him as a man of integrity, honesty and humility.
Gerry is a man who gets the job done while taking little credit for his efforts. Gerry just wants what is best for his family and Eagle County.
I first met Gerry when I was Eagle County Judge and he was a fledgling officer of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. Gerry previously had taught high school for 10 years after receiving his Master’s degree in education.
It didn’t take long for Gerry to move to the District Attorney’s office, where he has remained for the last 17 years. Seventeen years as an employee of this office ensures Gerry has no conflict of interest, and owes no favors to any special interest group.
Whenever Gerry would have to present himself to the court, whether in testifying or providing documentation for court approval, I could count on the fact that it was well prepared, accurate, well researched and timely. I never had a question about the validity of anything Gerry presented to the court.
Personally, I have never had a question regarding Gerry’s love of his home, family and community. I still live in the home I was born in, on Gypsum Creek, and I know Gerry wants to raise his daughter here in Eagle County.
This is where he wants to stay ? as shown by his constant involvement with the Eagle County School Board, the Town Council and numerous other boards and committees.
It goes without saying that Gerry has the intelligence, determination, focus and desire to make an outstanding “Commissioner for the people of Eagle County.” He loves his family and his community and will serve you well.
