A sorry state of affairs

Dear Editor:

Wow! We knew that the end of the Bush reign-of-error would be baaad … but this $700 billion bailout for Wall Street on top of the $2 trillion or $3 trillion for Iraq. The Repubs have certainly done what Bin Laden and the “terrorists” could never do ” bring down the U.S. Empire.

Ronnie Raygun got the wrecking ball rolling, back in the day, “I’m gonna get government off your back.” Translation: off the corporations’ backs. And we’re seeing the results of that deregulation. It ain’t pretty.

Along with deregulation, the Repubs preached privatization and militarization.

Dumbya rolled those out in Iraq, in our first privatized war-for-profit. Never mind the carnage, the loss of life, depleted Uranium, by god, there are new markets to be had for U.S. CORPORATIONS! Full speed ahead.

And McSame says we can “win” in Iraq. Poor student of history, Granpa. You can’t “win” an occupation. Ask the French or the (former) Soviets.

How ironic that “the Greatest Generation” defeated Hitler, only to 40 years later give power to Raygun and the real Fascists in power today. The only thing I see EXCEPTIONABLE about the USA, is the utter ignorance of the 40 percent of the electorate who continually vote for the Repub/Fascist party.
