A sign of spring?
For many years a stellar sign was posted on Ute Avenue, just past the Aspen Alps, which read: “No Outlet, No Letup, Do Not Pass Go.” I got a big laugh every night when I drove by it.
Sometime late last spring it disappeared, replaced by something wretchedly appropriate. Considering that whimsy was once the backbone of Aspen – and certainly a quality that set us apart from any other area – I have a question. Where did that puppy go?
I cannot think of a better morale booster or low-key welcome to springtime than to have it pop up along with the yellow jonquils.
