A shot of thanks

Dear Editor:

Community Health Services would like to take a moment and offer our deep-felt thanks and appreciation to all who helped us in the past recent months pull off some of our biggest, busiest and most successful vaccine clinics in our history.

We could never have been so successful without the help of so many people. The clinic we held Dec. 9 was astonishing. We are sorry for the temperature outside, but hopefully no one suffered too long in the frigid cold.

The calm and peaceful attitude of the entry team, consisting of both county and city environmental health offices, was amazing. The nurse who volunteered to help draw up vaccine was doing her best to keep up … the nurses who volunteered from Aspen Valley Hospital were incredible. The local law enforcement who assisted us in more ways than just enforcing the peace. AVH for loaning us two extra vials of the vaccine so we could vaccinate another 20 folks. The janitorial staff who probably was here until 3 a.m. cleaning the building after seeing more 800 folks walk through those doors in one four-hour period. The staff of Community Health Services, whose preparation for all these clinics is invaluable. The continued support from the Community Health board of directors … and last but never least, the folks who came out and stood in line.

We are so fortunate to have such an extra-ordinary community.
