A sadistic felony

Dear Editor:If you haven’t already heard about pro football player Michael Vick’s involvement in dogfighting, you should be made aware of it.After watching ESPN’s exposé on his direct participation in this twisted bloodsport, I am making this public pledge to NEVER watch another pro football game while he is a player in the NFL. I suggest anyone with a conscience do the same. If public opinion was able to bring down Imus for offensive speech, it ought to be able to bring down Vick for committing sadistic felonies. If the NFL gives Vick a pass on dogfighting, I am done with my support of the league and all of its advertisers. I am an ardent football fan and not an animal rights activist, but the story on ESPN made me sick to my stomach. In my opinion, he should do time in prison, but I would settle for a lifetime ban from football. After all, Pete Rose was given a lifetime ban for merely betting on baseball. If Michael Vick is on Atlanta’s roster this September, I will not be watching anymore pro football games this year, or any year, until he is gone. If you feel the same, please contact the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, National Football League, 280 Park Ave., New York, NY 10017.Ned CollumBasalt
