A rebuttal in verse

Dear Editor:

Time for a philosophy lesson that’s true, What you put out, comes back to you.

So be cautious about the things that you say, An appropriate reply may come your way.

Though my “ski” is one and your skis are two, This doesn’t mean that I am different than you.

It seems that our tools on the mountain each day Make much deeper ruts than “they did in the day.”

To see your name in the paper for a simple delight, Doesn’t mean that your views about snowboarders are right.

ALL of us sliders, try as we may, get up and strap on slippery boards each day.

I call it all skiing, I don’t care what they say, slide down the snow, on the mountain and play.

BUT if you are just starting to be a slider and “ski,” whether on two legs or on a sit-ski, start with two boards, it’s easier to do, there’s a quick learning curve and its easy to do.

BUT when it’s time to step up your game, try just TWO edges, it’s all just the same, A bit more balance and a new challenge too, perhaps just the ‘script for an old-timer like you.

So give up the view regarding your ride or mine, we both cut up the snow, all we can, all the time.

So no legs or two legs, One board or two, Do what you love, and love what you do.

It will leave no time to hate, and will bring love to you.
