A privilege to know Fred
Dear Editor:I wish to express my deepest gratitude to all of the out-of-town friends and ski instructors who attended the memorial for Fred Martinson on the top of Aspen Mountain on June 26. I especially wish to thank Father Tom Dentici for a beautiful service and the Aspen Skiing Co. for providing complimentary lift tickets to everyone without a ski pass. The sun came out just in time for the prayers and remembrances. The clouds rolled in during our lunch at the Sundeck and the sun reappeared for the spreading of Fred’s ashes upon his favorite run. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful stories and memories of Fred this entire day. I know Fred was there with us in spirit and he would truly have loved hearing all the tales from the past. Fred will always remain a trustworthy friend, a brilliant intellectual and an international man of mystery to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.Catalina CruzAspen
