A poop poem

Dear Editor:Spring is in the valley. The snow is melting fast.We still have four weeks left in the season,I wish the snow would last.Up on Smuggler there is an ugly sight for sure,Too many piles of dog poop, for there seems to be no cure!Is it too much to ask to pick up after your pet? There is a leash law in town,Maybe a ticket you should get!Poop left in bags on the side of the trail no doubt,Yesterday I hiked up there and all I could do was SHOUT!Poop over here! Poop over there! It is so obvious that some dog owners are completely unaware! So what do pet owners think their pooch is doing, while they turn the other cheek?Smuggler belongs to the people of Aspen now, it is definitely not just another street!Let’s give our old mining road some well-deserved respect,Please pick up the dog poop that was left by your pet!Bianca Ostrander and Casey OrnsteinAspen
