A pledge

On the evening of May 3, at the County Assembly, I was nominated by the Eagle County Democratic Party to seek the office of Eagle County Commissioner, District 3, which includes Basalt and El Jebel.

During discussions at the assembly, a request was made that the Eagle County Commissioners make a commitment to have regular office hours once a month in the Basalt/El Jebel area. It was pointed out that this has not occurred on a regular basis in the past.

The second request by citizen in the Basalt/El Jebel area, was that the commissioners meetings be broadcast on public access TV in their area.

Since new county offices have been recently completed in your area, I assume you will see your present commissioner more often during the upcoming election year.

I want to make a pledge to you, the citizens of Basalt and El Jebel, and that is:

When I am elected as your commissioner next November, I will hold regular monthly meetings in your area for the full four years of my term, not just when it is convenient for me or my candidacy for office.

It is also very important to me that all citizens of Eagle County have access to viewing commissioners meetings on public access TV. I will be available to you, as I will everyone in District 3 of Eagle County.
