A piece of paradise

Dear Editor:In response for Melanie Doskocil’s letter (The Aspen Times, Nov. 7), I would like to thank her for such a great letter and perhaps start up a conversation. Yes, we all came to this area because we want a piece of this little paradise. We love the beauty that surrounds us and the feeling of a community that cares as much. I remember hearing since I was very young, “One bad apple could rot a whole case.” That doesn’t mean it will. It’s easy to just conform and lose touch of where we are and who we are. However, no matter how long ago we came to this valley or if we just got here, we came for the same reason. We all want that special feeling that our precious surroundings submerge us into. Ah! And when walking dogs, don’t get lazy because someone else didn’t pick up their dog’s doo. Don’t we keep almost stepping on it when hiking? And there is more and more on the trails these days. Thanks! Adriana LismanAspen
