A partnership worth sticking with
Dear Editor:The July 27 Aspen Times article about Catholic Charities’ desire to build affordable housing and bemoaning its lack of a site in Basalt answers its own questions (“Affordable apartments on the ropes”). The Archdiocese says “David [Fiore] is a great partner and we’re going to stick it out with him.” Great.Fiore wants to redevelop the Roaring Fork Mobile Home Park in the heart of Basalt and needs to relocate 51 park residents out to the high school away from Basalt. Instead of new high-end condos in the heart of Basalt, build 51 employees units at the Roaring Fork Mobile Home Park like Catholic Charities wants. That’s a great partnership.Matt JonesBasalt
