Dear Editor:In the past few weeks I have been increasingly disappointed (to put it mildly) in the facts that have come forth about the way in which Dan MacEachen, owner, runs his dog sledding center and restaurant, Krabloonik. This (week’s) news was the final shock. To shoot a dog in the back of the head just because its breeding made it incapable of pulling your sleds is revolting! Even more sickening (if that’s possible) is to shoot an aging dog that has given you good service for 12 to 13 years and made that business you are so “damn proud” of profitable. And last, but not least, is the disgusting and insulting place you “bury” these unfortunate creatures. In fact, I think that should be the new name of your business – The S— Pit. By the way Mr. MacEachen, I’m curious, what “humane” plans do you have for yourself when you are too old or incapable of running your business?Ricki Smith NewmanAspen and Newburgh, Ind.
