A lovely light

Dear Editor: As a former resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, I had the privilege of knowing Hunter. He was an extremely complex man, far more than his public persona; a real human being, no matter the caricature of films and articles. In recalling Hunter, this small poem comes to mind:”My candle burns at both ends,It will not last the night. But, ah, my foesAnd, oh, my friends,It gives a lovely light.”-Edna St. Vincent MillayTracy HillEnglewood
