A lot with a little

Dear Editor:

As a regular skier on Ajax, I wanted to say “thank you” to those who worked so hard this year to take a little snow and put it in all the right places! You did a marvelous job at Ajax giving us a full year of great slopes to enjoy!

I know that all the Ajax staff literally picked up rocks on the slopes as needed. I began skiing early on, when the mogul runs were still bare, but the groomed runs were fantastic, and skiing and boarding was even rock-free due to the night crews and packing creatively done!

Even now, with the warm days and the snow disappearing again, snow-management crews work long nights and create slopes that are good for skiing and boarding from early to late day!

I was in the Rockies during the winter of 1976-77, when the year had little snow, similar to this year. There is no comparison! That long-ago year meant skiing the entire season was not even possible.

Thank you to all who worked so hard at Ajax to give us great moments on the slopes from the beginning to the end of this season! Of course, Buttermilk with the X Games, done so well with a little snow, was amazing! Highlands and Snowmass gave us the same great year of ski slopes and is another reason to be thankful to live in the Aspen area or be close enough to enjoy Aspen in the winter season!
