A heartfelt thank you

(This letter was originally addressed to Aspen Times sports editor Tim Mutrie.)

I would like to express my gratitude to you for the unbelievable coverage of Chris Klug before, during and hopefully after the Salt Lake City Olympics.

Your insight and reporting skills have brought out the full effect and heartfelt emotions that both the Klug and donor families have been going through in the last 20 months.

As [donor] Billy Flood’s uncle, I have been transformed in a full circle by these events. First off, by the tragic and untimely death of a family member, then to the very successful organ donor process.

Through your efforts and interviews you have helped thousands of people understand the importance of carrying an organ donor card. Every article is a touching tale of not only tragic loss, but the success of continued life for others.

Thanks again for your continued support. The donor family sincerely thanks you for helping spread the very inspirational success story of Chris Klug; he is a true hero to all of us.

A heartfelt thank you.

Kevin F. Flood
