A healthy dose of fun
September 2, 2011
The Nutritarian Festival this past weekend was excellent! The co-chairs of the event, Shelley Summers, Martin Oswald, Natalie Obermeyer and Dr. Joel Fuhrman, need to be congratulated for organizing such a wonderful evening.
The chefs who participated from our local restaurants created delicious and high-nutrient dense dishes, which all of the attendees voted on. It was really hard to decide on just one because the food was so tasty and healthy. I hope this event will happen annually and spread across the United States because it was so informative and fun.
We are so fortunate to live in Aspen for so many reasons. Our new Pyramid Bistro in the Explorer Bookstore is one of the newest reasons we are so lucky. Martin Oswald, the chef/owner, offers healthy, delicious, nutrient-dense meals daily. It is the first Nutritarian restaurant in the country, which I think is fantastic. Let’s all support him and hope that all of the restaurants in the valley follow suit.
Thanks again to all of the co-chairs, the sponsors (Vitamix, Whole Foods, Aspen Club and Pyramid Bistro) and the chefs who participated. Everyone who attended the event thoroughly enjoyed the event!
