A great track record

Dear Editor:

It is rare indeed that the Aspen populace has the opportunity to judge, measure and gauge a political candidate on both his previous eight-year term as an Aspen City Councilman and his 40-year record as an Aspen businessman.

Both have been exemplary and without tarnish or blemish.

His record as a city councilman from 1973 to 1981 depicts his visionary and practical accomplishments:

1) Developed and opened Aspen’s municipal golf course;

2) Authorized and developed the castle ridge employee housing development;

3) Created Hyman Avenue and Mill/Hopkins malls;

4) Developed Wagner Park’s children’s park;

5) Inaugurated the Ruedi reservoir and dam power generation station (that provides about one-third of Aspen’s electrical power).

It’s time to bring vision and responsibility back to Aspen. I highly endorse Michael Behrendt for Aspen City Council.
