A great time for veterans
May 13, 2002
This letter is to thank everyone who helped make the 2002 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic an outstanding success.
Special mention must be made, though, to the Aspen Skiing Co., Challenge Aspen, Snowmass Resort Association, Snowmass Conference Center, Aspen Elks Lodge #224, RFTA, the Roaring Fork Valley Sportsmen Association, the Roaring Fork Club, Sopris Therapy Services, the Earth beat Choir, Aspen High School and all the folks up at Ashcroft.
We’d also like to say thanks for all the great local media support.
Now in its 17th year, the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic is a world class skiing/outdoor sporting event that provides severely disabled veterans with opportunities for self-development and challenge.
One of the greatest effects of this event is the way in which it enriches and galvanizes the local community. After just two years in the Aspen/Snowmass area, due to fantastic community support and acceptance, we are now in position to provide some truly remarkable experiences for our nation’s disabled veterans.
Thanks to everyone up and down the valley, who gave so unselfishly. I am really looking forward to working with everyone over the next four years. They promise to be very exciting.
