A grateful veteran

As I reflect back on this year’s Veteran’s Day ceremony, I was delighted by the turn-out and the feelings of pride and patriotism shown by all of the veterans.

I include not only the combat vets but all of the family members, children and friends who have stood by their “vets” for a lifetime. To me, all of these people are vets and I give them my gratitude, honor and respect.

I was delighted by Debbie Harder-Kreutzer’s fifth-grade students, the songs and their essays. It is a pure joy to know the upcoming generation will carry on our proud traditions.

I am always grateful to the Elks and the wonderful program they put on for the vets. They are a very special group of guys and gals and their support is most appreciated.

Many thanks to the Marine Corps Color Guard. What an honor to have them at our ceremony.

My thanks to the people who shared their feelings and stories with us. This sharing is what makes our ceremony and memorial so very special.
